People need to feel that they are loved.
If you have ever ridden a horse you know that a horse will literally act the way you feel.
It can feel your emotions.
With your energy you are going to make it feel: safe, scared, nervous, free.
Humans aren't that different...
Especially your loved ones.
What if you started every day off with holding your spouse before you did anything else (check your phone, pee, answer email, fix coffee)?
What if you gave each one of your children a hug and rubbed their back before the busy-ness of the day caught you?
How could that change the trajectory of their day?
Just something to think about...
Sometimes we are too close to things to really see what is going on.
Life happens FOR us...
Not TO us.
What does that mean?
That means that everything happens for a reason.
We may not always understand WHY (especially when bad things happen) but there is always a purpose behind it.
If you can adopt this belief then you will be amazed at how many events in your life that seem to "bad" are actually blessings.
Sometimes they happen because the opportunity is ready yet.
Sometimes it is because you aren't ready yet.
Sometimes it is because the opportunity would not be good for you (even though it may appear very attractive).
When life gets you frustrated, when you can't see anything "good" in situations, step back and change perspective.
There may be something there you didn't see before.

You don't grow in your comfort zone. Ever.
You grow when you are UNCOMFORTABLE.
For some reason we want to be comfortable in ALL areas of our life at ALL times.
It's our natural default setting.
A lot of people are hoping to "arrive" one day when everything is easy.
That's a fallacy.
For starters, nothing is ever going to stay the same forever.
Secondly, you'd be bored out of your mind if it did.
When you don't use a muscle it atrophies.
The same holds true for life and your skills.
When you don't use something (aka apply force to it) it will eventually degrade.
Stop trying to be comfortable.
Instead get uncomfortable chasing something that you desire in life instead of reacting to the uncomfortableness that life will throw at you anyway.

MAKING your body do certain things (especially when it doesn't want to) creates power.
Physical obedience matters.
Pushing your body...
Making it do what you command it to...
Not allowing it to sway your mind...
Focusing on accomplishing what you have set out to do...
These are all benefits of learning to control your body with your mind.
Your body is not much different than a dog.
Ever seen that person being dragged down the street by their dog on a leash?
Ever seen a highly trained K-9 work their magic?
Train your body to show up when you command it to.
"When do you find time to do that?"
How should we look at time? What is it exactly?
It's the one thing that we all have the exact same of every day (as long as we are living) yet so many people do so many different things with it.
Here are a few key things to remember about time through a biblical reference:
1. Timing matters. You can't focus on everything all the time. There are times when you literally can NOT do certain things during the day. Ever tried pond fishing in the middle of a hot summer day? Harvesting when there isn't any hay? Check out John 9:4. "We must work the works of Him who sent Me as long as it is day; night is coming when no one can work."
2. Don't procrastinate. If you have the opportunity to make progress today...DO IT. The best planners in the world can't plan life. Seize the opportunity you have today. Be PRESENT in the moment. This could be "catching a minute" with a loved one. Making one more sales call. Adding one more...
Last night, we had a house full of tired kiddos. Two of three of them had stayed up too late and were grumpy.
Right before they went to bed, two of them had "mini meltdowns."
They literally were so tired that they were beside themselves.
Here's the thing, though. Adults aren't that much different.
Sometimes, and I don't care who you are, you start being dramatic.
Typically its when you are running on "empty."
This is when you need to realize where you are energy-wise and get your ass to bed.
It's as simple as that.
Pay attention to yourself when you are running tired.
You have less mental fortitude.
You start operating much more emotionally (and less logically).
You are short tempered.
Typically you are going to start causing other issues for yourself.
Just go to sleep.
Eat you a nice, healthy meal, cut the air down, get under some warm sheets and get you a full 8 hours.
As simple as this may sound, most people ignore it.
They push. Then push some more. Then they...
Recently Nick Saban went off on the media/fans because they were complaining about how small of a margin Alabama was winning.
If you haven't seen (or read) about the incident you can check it out here.
Winning is winning.
While the bookies may have margins and lines on the game the record books do not.
A lot of the time it's easy to get caught up in how "pretty" a win was or was not, but at the end of the day does it really matter?
Anxiety tends to creep in when we start to think too far out into the future. It also creeps in when we put too much pressure on ourselves to make the win "pretty."
Heck, just win.
If you do that then you'll create so much momentum it won't matter.
Let's take working out for example. Every day literally can not be a PR day in the gym. Your body can't handle that. Sometimes just getting in their and moving is all that you need to do. Sometimes just getting out of bed is a victory when the alarm goes off.
Let's take this lesson and apply it to...
How do certain people seem to get so far ahead of everyone else?
Are they born with some type of super power?
Do they have more time than others?
Do they delegate better?
Some of the answers may be "yes," but the real super power is WISDOM.
So how do you define wisdom?
"the soundness of an action or decision with regard to the application of experience, knowledge, and good judgment"
Well, Vaughn, that's great, but what the hell does that mean in the real world?
It means, that if you truly want to be successful then you better start acting with wisdom.
WISDOM + ACTION = RESULTS
Put a strategy into your planning before you "get busy getting busy."
"Sharpen the axe" before you stop chopping wood.
Feed your mind so that you can use your body to execute.
Prioritize your day.
Know WHO can actually take a task and complete it for you.
You see, wisdom allows you to multiply your time.
It allows you the clarity to know what to focus on.
It means paying attention to what is...
